Parent Program Teaching someone you love to drive can be a scary and challenging time, especially when you consider how vulnerable young drivers are on our roads. Parents and young driver mentors have an increasingly important role to play in keeping their young drivers safe on the roads - while they are learning and well into young adulthood. Blue Datto’s Parent Program is an interactive workshop for parents and guardians of new and future young drivers. The aim of the program is to encourage parents to take an active role in the ongoing education and support of their young driver and provide them with practical tools and strategies to help keep everyone safe. The program also explains how parents’ behaviour can affect the child’s behaviour and focuses on the development of positive actions and attitudes. It also encourages parents to: help their child develop personal travel strategies take an active interest in their child’s driving long after they achieve their Provisional licence understanding of the importance of learner drivers using and buying safe cars Interested in hosting a Parent Program at your school or in your community?
